A Major Reason Why Disneyland Gave Up On Tomorrowland
I say DCA should be a Pixar Park. Disneyland should have original IPs.
Ready for a compliment sandwich? Top bread: You really seem to have come into your own over the past year. I'm impressed every time you upload something these days and I think you should be super proud of all the time and research you've put into these videos. Middle cheese: You spelled Encanto wrong. In two different ways, which I think is hilarious. "Ecanto" 🥹 "Enconto" 😹 Bottom bread: Your content on the design and history of these theme parks is a real resource for anyone wanting to learn about the topic. Your channel can only grow as your videos are discovered by more and more people who either grew up with this branded experience and know how immersive it can be, or those who have never been and want to know what the big deal is. Great work. ❤
I wish they would put a Tao lo dark ride or walk through in DCA avenger area!
I still feel that X-Men will be the perfect partner for the Avengers Campus.
What are the chances they develop something original (Non-IP)? I would love something like World Showcase in Epcot. That's my favorite in DisneyWorld.
Great Video. We just went to Universal Hollywood. We hadn't been there in about 30 years. thought we'd try another park. It was fun, but doesn't even compare to Disneyland. How do you get those vacant Street Shots?
Tron would be great if it was longer
villains land/Shadowlands is what the expansion for Disneyland would be in the downtown Disney parking lot
There’s a better chance of goofys sky school being replaced by Coco or Encanto then there is either one of those properties showing up in the DCA parking lot expansion. Besides avatar, I think it’s more likely to be another version of Tokyo Disney Sea.
i stopped even looking at these artist renderings. They've put out so many drawings that i assume its the only job left at the company that involves artwork and imagination.
I can't get enough of these videos. Please keep them going. They are great!!!
Beauty and the beast for the adults and frozen for the kids in the Disneyland plot is genius and literally could not fail.
I could see that exact dca expansion except maybe encanto, I could see them bringing it to Disneyland as apart of a fantasy springs west with maybe also frozen, tangeled, lion king and villains
1000% believe these are the options currently on the table but damn, wouldn't it be amazing if we were looking at 100% new concepts tied to different IP rather than reworking previous stuff? Just knock the socks off the industry and the expectations by mixing it up for an extension onto Walt's park?
Heaven forbid they do a non IP based theme
The spirit of Walt Disney and his dream lives on in your videos my friend ... well done Brickey!
I think a Pixar land mixed with coco, turning red and perhaps soul? Makes the most sense you’re representing 3 different demographics And that corner of the park is always used for cultural holidays.
I really hope you're right about Coco and Encanto. Toy Story already has too much representation in the parks, and frankly it's a pretty old IP that is pretty well played out at this point (still popular, but closer to the point of waning interest than peak interest). I also agree with you about not seeing Tron working here. The one wild card there is if the new movie proves to be wildly popular. I'm still holding out hope for the Beauty And The Beast dark ride.
I know for sure Avatar will come and I also agree they will use frozen or even Moana
I really like the idea of putting Zootopia in the Backlot area (although I would prefer it to be rethemed to the Muppets). My one hesitation is that it looks really tall, and I worry about the visual impact on the Esplanade. It would be weird to be in the Esplanade and see the Zootopia cityscape. The same problem applies to Avatar and Wakanda. Anything they might build in the transportation zone runs the risk of permanently changing the whole "inside the berm, outside the berm" feeling of leaving the world of today and entering the world created by Disney.
I'd like to see them put an Ewok village in the trees in Animal Kingdom. Where you could look down and see the animals. Walking safari type attraction with things to do.
To be honest, I actually can see a possibility of a Frozen, Tangled, and Beauty and the Beast land over by the critter country area of Disneyland forward because there needs to be a draw over to that side just in case Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not the draw that they are looking for. Not saying that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure isn’t a good idea but it’s the guests popularity opinions that actually matters to be a huge draw which I’m sure Tiana’s Bayou Adventure could be popular for a few months, but it won’t be popular enough for a permanent thing. Therefore whatever is on the Disneyland part of the Disneyland forward has to be popular enough to actually bring people through critter country and back.
I agree that Toy Story would be better suited for DCA. I think Disney is realizing that one issue they have with the second gate is that there is less in that park for families with younger children. When we go for 4 days, we only spend one in DCA due to the lack of rides that our kids are interested in.
So many options and im sure it will be an ever changing plate of IP to choose from. Especially with the long time line and money mentioned.
Love the idea of a frozen land, although I hope not just a complete carbon copy. Avatar, I guess they are going to build it. Couldn't care less, Stick it at the far end of DCA, maybe I'll visit once. Again hopefully different rides. Encanto and Coco. Sure , it could be fun; although depends on the rides, at least could have some fun shows. Toy Story land. can be cute, do you do slinky dog dash or something new?, Definitely feels like a conflict with Pixar pier though
I wish disney would have the cajones to use the DL parking lot to do a Villians land
How did you ride that car?
This may be your best video yet, Brickey. You have truly captured, both in words and images, what makes New Orleans Square so special and unique. I love that you shot most of this at night because, for me, that is when New Orleans Square is at its best. There is no more pure a Disneyland experience than to walk the streets of New Orleans Square after sundown. It is truly magical. And I agree with you completely that the land itself is an attraction. I could easily spend an entire day and evening in New Orleans Square and feel satisfied. However, visiting the entire of the park without setting foot in New Orleans Square would leave me feeling unfulfilled. New Orleans Square IS the Disneyland experience. Thank you so much for this video.
Cyno?
Brickey do you think they will ever destroy Mickey & Friends parking Structure to expand more out for park?
I just want Disney to give us something new that no other Disney park has I think we deserve something new & maybe a other roller coaster
I'm thinking they turn Disney Drive into a tunnel road or just remove it all together. Expand both parks across the street (using the street) and make a tunnel to the Californian hotel only. Just a thought.
The Frozen land is roughly 7 acres, it would have to be 3 times the size to fill the entire Disneyland side of the expansion pad as the parking lot is roughly 20-25 acres depending on how much of the land they use. Something to think about ?
I’ll bite: Brickey, what do you WANT to see in there?
Brickey love your videos, I was wondering if imagineers can adapt the flight of passage ride system unto a coco attraction where we ride the coco alejibres animals throughout the land of the dead.
I disagree about the stage/terrace. I think that is the coolest stage. Think what they could do if they brought in popular artists to play special, ticketed events now and then? It was always so fun to see it come up out of the ground and hear the music start. Or, at the very least, have some cool new shows there or ambient music... Great point about it being mismatched. That is the word for it. I personally think it could all all that early 60's "future" design - really lean into that - and still be present with more current ideas and tech within the rides themselves. However... I also disagree about redoing Space Mountain! I love the historic look of those large coasters and I the "skyline" of Space Mountain!
Does that mean there's some cast members for other cast members? :O Or.. maybe it's just like a serve yourself type of cafe, just like a buffet!
I’m curious to find out what would be your preference for future Disney.
We gonna be old or dead by the time this all opens disney even said its gonna be a 40 year plan
Do you feel that Mermaid will stay in DCA?
Tangled would fit well in the Motorboat cruise area
Lots of good news
Extremely lazy to rebuild Fantasy Springs in Anaheim. The detail of that land is gorgeous but the quality of the attraction experience is lacking. Peter Pan comes across as a retheme of Animal Kingdoms Avatar river journey
A 3rd Tron style coaster was purchased and it has been said it would be Captain America themed If it stays Tron then it would be in Toy Story parking lot
Pixar hotel side you mentioned 1 Toy Story 2 Encanto 3 Coco 4 Wakanda 5 Avatar 6 what was the 6th one?
Goofys sky school area would be replaced by Ratatouille is my guess
Toy Story land would be a waste of space with Pixar Pier already in the park. A blue sky dream would be to build Pixar Pier in this space and build Zootopia where the current pier is.
Just one more nod that Tokyo resort has become totally superior, not the same as the other asian parks, or even France, which was born stunning. It’s going to be STOKEALICIOUS to watch Walt’s place grow into those levels and be Amazing again.
Seasonal operation was (and is) very much a Northeast/upper Midwest thing dictated by the weather, a great many Southern California amusement parks *were* open year-round. And Knotts had always had sit-down dinners, in fact their park started as entertainments for people waiting in line for the Chicken Dinner restaurant.
To sum up, everyone who had done an amusement park up to that time had done it on a much tighter budget and usually on borrowed money as opposed to being a sideline to an already-profitable busness as Disney Studios were in the '50s.
